Great Places to Visit in Albuquerque
If you are looking for exciting things to do while vacationing in Albuquerque at any time, consider some of these great places and events to check out when you’re in town. Here are some of the notable things to do the next time you pay a visit.
If you want to visit a place that marks a significant point in the history of early America, visit Old Town. For over 300 years this area has blended both Native American and Spanish cultures, containing a central plaza with cobblestone streets lined with adobe huts filled with restaurants, shops and art galleries of all kinds. Many visitors come to see the Church of San Felipe de Neri as well, which stands as Albuquerque’s oldest building.
Albuquerque Biological Park
Just a little southeast of Old Town sits the Albuquerque Biological Park, which provides visitors with a number of attractions including the Albuquerque Aquarium, the Rio Grande Zoo and Tingley Beach. You can see sharks in the aquarium’s 285,000-gallon tank, while the nearby botanic garden houses 36 acres of plant life. Want to spend a day at the beach? Tingley Beach gives visitors the chance to ride bikes, hike and fish nearly any time during the summer.

Albuquerque Museum of Art and History
To get a full glimpse at the history and rich art culture in Albuquerque, visit the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History. This building is located right on Old Town’s eastern edge and contains many artifacts the conquistadors left behind such as a 19th-century chapel and armor. Exhibitions are regularly changed to give visitors a fresh view of artwork from both local and international artists. Their current exhibitions include “Common Ground: Art in New Mexico” and “Frederick Hammersley: The Art of Conversation”.
